Chemical and Industrial Piping Systems for Corrosion-Resistant, High-Performance Applications

Fiberglass Piping Systems

Introduction

In chemical and industrial environments, piping systems are expected to do far more than simply move fluid from one point to another. Day after day, they are exposed to corrosive chemicals, abrasive materials, temperature fluctuations, and demanding operating conditions that can quickly wear down traditional materials. In these environments, reliability is not just important; it directly affects safety, efficiency, maintenance schedules, and long-term operating costs.

Composite piping systems are a trusted solution for industrial applications because they provide the reliability that traditional piping materials cannot.

At our company, we are dedicated to the specification and distribution of fibreglass reinforced plastic (FRP) piping systems designed specifically for challenging service conditions. With expertise across a broad range of FRP pipe and fitting products, specialty components, and accessories, we provide solutions tailored to corrosive, erosive, and hazardous fluid handling applications.

Every facility operates differently, and piping systems need to reflect those real-world demands. Whether the application involves aggressive chemicals, abrasive slurries, wastewater, or high-pressure process lines, the goal remains the same: dependable long-term performance with minimal compromise.

Applications Across Industries

One of the greatest strengths of FRP piping systems is their versatility. These systems are used across a wide variety of industries and applications where durability and corrosion resistance are critical.

Applications include potable water, brine, chemical feed, waste handling, vent service, and industrial process lines. They are also widely used in industries such as power generation, metals and minerals, food service, LNG, automotive, aerospace and defence, biotech and pharmaceutical, heating and cooling, fine and specialty chemicals, petroleum refining, pulp and paper, and municipal and industrial wastewater treatment.

Although these industries operate in very different ways, they all share a common need: piping systems that can continue performing reliably under harsh and demanding conditions. From wastewater systems exposed to corrosive materials to process lines handling aggressive chemicals, dependable infrastructure becomes a critical part of everyday operations.

This broad range of applications reflects the importance of selecting piping systems that are not only engineered for technical performance, but also proven through years of practical use in the field.

Product Families and Options

Our product line includes a wide selection of filament-wound piping systems, including Green Thread, Red Thread, and Bondstrand. These systems have been used for more than 40 years in applications such as potable water, firewater mains, saltwater cooling, saltwater disposal, heating and cooling water systems, and wastewater service.

The lineup also includes centrifugally cast piping systems such as Centricast, which features a 100% resin corrosion barrier and is recognized for its high level of chemical resistance. For more than 50 years, it has been used in industries including steel pickling, chloro-alkali, pharmaceutical manufacturing, power generation, and chemical processing.

Different operating environments require different solutions, which is why a wide range of piping systems is available for varying pressures, temperatures, and service conditions.

These include:

  • RB-2530 and RB-1520 for caustics, salts, solvents, acids, and chemical process solutions
  • Green Thread HP and Red Thread HP for industrial and water-service applications
  • Bondstrand 2000, 2400, 3000, 3200, 3300, 4000, and 7000 for industrial, water, and chemical services
  • CL2030 and CL1520 for chlorinated and acidic mixtures

The product offering also includes vinyl ester options such as F-Chem, CL-2030 and Bondstrand 5000, for specialized chemical environments.

For more demanding operating conditions, specialty products such as Z-Core, Silver Streak, Ceram Core, Down Hole Tubing & Casing, and High-Pressure products are available for severe abrasive, corrosive, and high-pressure applications.

What makes these systems especially valuable is not only their technical capability, but also the confidence they bring to operations where failure is not an option. In many industrial facilities, choosing the right piping system is ultimately about reducing downtime, improving longevity, and ensuring consistent performance over time.

Added Features and Listings

In addition to corrosion and abrasion resistance, many of these piping systems can also be hydro-blasted, steam cleaned, and heat-traced to support ongoing maintenance and operational requirements.

Several products also carry recognized industry listings and certifications, including:

  • Factory Mutual Listing for Red Thread FM and Bondstrand 2416FM/2420FM/6000 piping
  • UL and NSF 61 listings for drinking water on Red Thread HP, Green Thread HP, Bondstrand 2000, 2400 series, and 7000 pipe

These certifications help support confidence in product quality, safety, and suitability across a variety of industrial and municipal applications.

Industrial environments demand piping systems that can withstand more than everyday wear and tear. Corrosion, abrasion, chemical exposure, and changing operating conditions all place continuous stress on infrastructure, making material selection an important long-term decision.

FRP piping systems offer a dependable solution for facilities seeking durability, corrosion resistance, and performance across a wide range of industrial applications. With decades of proven use across multiple industries and a broad selection of product families available, these systems continue to support operations where reliability matters most.
